Unfortunately, the unit never lived up to performance expectations. It did have problems out of the box, however, I chalked it up to the Windows/Gateway bloat-ware installed on the PC. I had planned to wipe it out and start over. However, the Windows Experience Index (WEI) indicated a 7.9 across the board except the disk drives (5.9). So, I explored replacing the primary drive and this is where I became more disappointed.Frame of reference: a ten year old Dell Dimension 8200. Good in its day and has never had a single issue as it continues to run strong. The case requires no tools to open it and most components such as disk drives conveniently slide out on rails; again no tools required. The new Gateway FX believe it or not uses bolts everywhere. When exploring the disk drive, it took well over 2 hours from the time I started until I got it back together (and that's on a work bench). It became apparent why there aren't many of these around and why they are so expensive; they are difficult to built. In this day and age, there is no excuse for building these components using 1980s manufacturing techniques. Had there been some thought to the build, this could have been a very nice rig.Now with that said, the consumer aspect of the case is very nice. It looks nice and is functional (although big). Despite how the components are bolted together, the components in themselves are good quality.Bottom Line: I would have kept the unit and rebuilt the software had the inner hardware components not been such a pain to deal with. I had planned to replace the SATA drive with an OCZ SSD Revo Drive. Unfortunately, it simply wasn't worth the hassle when considering I had just paid fourteen hundred for the unit.Once again, Amazon was incredibly great to deal with and that's why I continue to buy from them - fantastic company who has my loyalty. I handed in an assignment with great results. I am still learning lighting, but this is a great starter kit for the price and my student budget. There are directions but it helps if you have already trained on other professional lighting kits first. The cords/plugs that came with my lights were simply grounded - there is nothing "unusual" about them, so I'm not understanding the other review here. You just plug one end of the cord into the lighting unit and the other into - I use a power bar (for power tools) - an outlet that is suited for the plug. Every outlet in my house could handle these. Usually you end up focusing macro shots manually, and the Tamron manual focus ring travels about 270 degrees, giving lots of smooth fine-tuning capability. For portraits and medium telephoto shots, the autofocus capability works well but it's audible. You can set a limiting switch so that it won't hunt through the entire range, from 8" to infinity. It's easy to switch from autofocus to manual by feel -- you can do it without moving your eye from the viewfinder. There are probably better choices if you want to do portraits first and macrophotography second -- Canon's 100mm and Sigma's 105mm macros, in particular, but the Tamron is an excellent choice for macro work. The lens body is plastic, so it's lighter than OEM lenses from Canon & Nikon. The light weight makes one wonder about how rugged it is, but it feels well put together, and anyway you shouldn't be using a lens to drive nails. They look good together, and I like how the TV is securely attached to the base. I'm nervous about knocking over TVs this large that are just sitting on top of a piece of furniture. When I purchased this computer, it had no reviews, and I was not fully sold on the concept of a 'net top' (worried about intolerably slow performance). I have been building my own systems for work and personal use for 15 years and bought this system to replace a home-built system. I expected to be disappointed. I expected the system to only be usable for web browsing and to stutter a bit on video streaming.My first impressions of the Asus EB1501P - it's cute! it's small! it's light! It's literally smaller than my wireless router. Set up was a breeze. It took about 30 minutes to do everything -- starting windows for the first time w/ its configuration steps, removing some of the unnecessary software that was pre-installed, locking down some of the security settings & unneeded services, customizing settings, and backing up the system. It took a very short period of time to migrate my data and install the applications running on my previous system. Wireless networking worked immediately out of box, even with uncommon security settings, which was a pleasant surprise and has never been the case with any other computer or device I've used. It has a short wireless antenna and receives a much stronger signal from my router than any other device I have. The included wireless keyboard and mouse work well. I haven't tried the remote yet. Unlike my much more expensive computers, this worked out of box with a 5.1 channel audio receiver without any additional set up.Out of box system performance is slower than your average NEW desktop but not unusable. This is due to the limited amount of memory (ships with 2GB). When running a number of very intensive applications, the system was consistently using 1.5GB of memory. This does not leave much overhead. Apps were slow to open (~10 seconds - I am impatient) and sometimes switching between apps froze the app for a couple of seconds. This is comparable or BETTER than any "net book" laptop I've used. Even with these limitations, the system lived up to my expectations based on its intended purpose and specifications and is completely usable for web browsing, music streaming, and video playback. I made two modifications which made me exceptionally happy with this system: 1) Upgraded the memory to 4GB - if you are already spending this much on a net box, the memory upgrade is only another $75-80 and drastically improves performance.2) Added a large USB drive for media file storage & backup.With these changes, the system is performing well enough to replace my other computers for normal daily use. I was most concerned with multi-tasking. I have Firefox, Chrome, iTunes, Tivo Desktop & Service daemon, Norton Internet Security, Windows Media Player, most of Asus's apps, and a few other intensive things, all open and used concurrently without issues. Streaming music and video has not caused any substantial resource spikes. (Caveat, I've heard 1080p playback via HDMI is choppy, but that lower resolutions are just fine -- I've done HD internet streaming with no problem but mostly at 480i). Memory usage is consistently in the 2-2.5GB range (and has never gone over ~2.8GB), which is not a problem in a 4GB system. CPU usage is almost always very low. Sidenote: all of my software was bought for a Windows XP 32-bit system, and I have had no problem at all with apps working on Windows 7 64-bit, which is pre-installed on the Asus.Literally my only complaint was that I could not find clear specifications in order to confirm the type of memory used by the system. I had to wait until the system arrived to open the case.Rating is -1 star for two reasons: 1) price... I think it's a lot for what you get, but that said, every other similar system I've looked at was more expensive without much advantage; and 2) I think this could have been built with 4GB memory for a very small incremental price and would have been a much better system.Here is the upgrade kit that is needed to bring the system to 4GB. Upgrading the memory was easy and there are tutorials on the web for other Asus models with identical case design). This was not before swearing at the computer for about 30 minutes trying to install all the drivers the right way, but once it worked, the 3d effects were quite amazing. I was disappointed to find that nothing really jumped OUT at you, but instead it felt like the monitor was a window to a smaller world. Nevertheless, it was very impressive. It didn't put as much of a press on my computer as all the reviews said it would, I was still getting very acceptable framerates playing rather demanding games using a GTX 275.The glasses are pretty cool looking, and as a small bonus, they come charged enough to work out of the box. The monitor is really fantastic too, beautiful 1080p resolution, bright colors, and you can adjust it a lot of different ways for the best angle. I originally got this for the games, and I was really shocked at how well all of them worked, I've yet to reach a game that doesn't support it. My beef with this is the price. I would have waited if I wasn't so impulsive. The price was just a bit too high for what you get. It's cool and everything, but you are definitely paying a premium for new technology. It is cool enough that I'm keeping it though - I'm not regretting it THAT much. And since this is a new technology, the amount of media for this is pretty small for everything but the games. So, before I talk about the iPad in general, I'd like to explain my take on the 3G.3G Performance: The BOTTOM LINE: Works good as long as you aren't using it in a moving car. I ran an internet speed test on it and in the metro area it was 1.2Mbps down and 210kbps up, which is decent. The DETAILS: If you are doing basic computing, you will be able to be anywhere within a 3G service area to enjoy the internet. (If 3g service sucks in your area, don't buy an iPad 3g) Here is the only problem: when you pass from tower to tower the signal can hang as the data has to be rerouted to the new tower. Lets put this another way. If you are using the iPad netflix app to stream "Kim Possible season 3" videos to your iPad while driving at 60 MPH it will "hang" during the 22 minute show. In summary: The AT&T 3G works the same as my 3G expresscard from Verizon. 2G Performance: Yes, you can use your iPad on AT&T's 2G EDGE network as needed. The data is slow. You won't enjoy it.3G setup: 3G setup is simple:- press settings button, choose cellular data, press set up cellular service.- put in your *iTunes* password. (AT&T is "invisible" except for a logo.)- put your credit card into the iPad- voila! you have service for 30 daysIts very slick and takes less than a minute. Its how it should be.Avoiding the 3G data charges: If you are an iPhone user, and you have an iPad, you can avoid paying for 2 data plans by swapping sim cards. Of course, you might miss a few calls while your sim is in the iPad because the iPad doesn't support phone calls. If you have an older iphone: Older iPhones use large SIM cards and the ipad uses small microSIM cards. You would have to cut your large sim card down to the microsim size, and put it in your iPad (you will need a needle to pop it out). You would need to buy a little adapter (sold on the internet) to make your small sim fit back into your iPhone (so, buy the adapter first!) But this isn't a great long term solution, because, if you want to use the iPad as a GPS in the car you will not be able to use your phone quickly or easily until you switch them back out again. And yes, that can be the truth you choose.iPad vs. Laptop: If your idea is to buy an iPad to replace your laptop, and get an external keyboard, and a docking station, and bla bla bla... then you will be disappointed. This is a different kind of device, and you can't put a square peg in a round hole. The iPad is for even more mobile computing than a laptop can provide. ***A laptop needs a desk. But the iPad doesn't.*** Thats the point, and if its not compelling for you, then consider carefully before buying an iPad.iPad vs. iPod Touch: To say its just a big iPod touch is not really fair. The processor is much more powerful, allowing you to do a LOT MORE. You also get a big screen. And the 3g with this version. So to refuse to upgrade from the ipod Touch is similar to refusing to upgrade from a Kia Rio on the grounds that all other cars do the same thing. But the biggest reason the iPad+3G will work for you, is that after a few weeks with it, you will want learn how to make it work for you. You will *enjoy* using it and it will be easier to use. You will say "how can I change what I do so I can do it on the iPad" not "how can the iPad do exactly what I did before". For an example: here is a day with the iPad. I get up in the morning, and if I'm not being lazy, I get on the treadmill. I prop the ipad up on the treadmill while I walk. The Commander XP's use the same case but for triple the price have better eyepieces, coatings and optical specifications and a few additional or better accessories than the Marine model.I compared them in terrestrial and celestial viewing but the easiest comparison is done with astronomical subjects since they really define performance clearly. The images in the Marine model merged effortless. In the Commander XP, I have difficulty merging the images. They're obviously badly out of collimation. I don't care to fix this myself on binos in this price range.I evaluated the real and apparent fields of view as well as the sharpness near the edge of the field.In the Marine model, the real field of view is reasonably wide but apparent field is quite narrow. It's not bad but it's not a spectacular vista either. In the Commander XP, the real FOV is only barely perceptibly wider. Steiner's website lists the specifications. The apparent field is about the same. The almost indiscernable extra width of real FOV does not contribute much to the value for triple the price.On the Marine model, I put Sirius and Jupiter in the center of the field. They look nice. Moving the binoculars so that the objects were farther from the center of the field I could see the image degraded about half-way to the edge of the field of view. Near the very edge, the image was appalling. Much more than half-way out of the center of the field of view, the star or planet turns from a bright point to just a smear. Near the very edge it's a dim smudge. I tried the same with the Commander XP. It was every bit as bad.Are the XP's better on dim objects? The optics are supposed to transmit 96% light compared to the Commander V's 95% and the Marine's 90%. I saw very little difference on dim objects like the Orion nebula or the background of the Pleides or Jupiter's moons. Again, I can't see the justification for triple the price.Both have generious eye-relief, 20mm for the Marine and 22mm for these XP's. They also have the same weight and dimensions. They're heavy but still reasonable if you're wearing a thick coat to pad your chest and a harness to keep them from swinging all over if you're moving. Also, at 7x they're reasonable for handholding. For me, 7x50 is about the limit for handholding. Heavier or higher power would be too shakey. 6x56 might be nicer if they were more common.Where the XP is clearly better is with small details like the click-loc strap attachments (for use with Steiner straps and harnesses only), the better eyepiece covers, lens covers, focuser grips, shading eye-cups, and various doo-dads that come in the case. It comes with a flotation strap which the Marine doesn't, but I would still rather prefer a harness which neither comes with.I bought these Porro prism binos because I thought for the high price they should be outstanding. While roof prism binos might require fifteen hundred dollars or more to achieve optical exellence (or so I've heard), it should be easier with porros. With these, it's possible they lost collimation after leaving the factory but the optical quality is lacking nontheless. To be honest, I have nothing to compare them to. That said, the owner's manual was a tad vague on some fronts; however, through trial and error, we were able to get everything functioning. It should be noted that the rear surround sound speakers are only "somewhat" wireless. They receive a wireless signal from the receiver, but still require a remote electrical connection to provide power. The sound is particularly superb when viewing high-definition (e.g. Blue Ray) DVDs and delivers fairly decent output as an audio amp for playing the iPod and audio CDs. That said, living in an apartment makes it unlikely that we'll ever push the limits of its capability. Married with a decent photo program on your computer, it is possible to achieve professional results.Many reviews say, get this with the stabilization lens.... I wholeheartedly agree... the extra $100 is a bargain price for this lens... It is almost (and I do say almost) like having a tripod. I set the camera for 1/10th second exposures with no support, and obtained steady pictures with it, slower than this, and the stabilization did not fully correct for any unsteadiness.We'd buy it again in a heartbeat, and I wish I could get one for everyone I know!! Best photos that I have ever taken and a joy to use! Connecting it to the computer and downloading photos takes a matter of seconds.Get the largest SD card you can afford with it... PersonsI wanted to say I am very impressed with the layout and comfort of the keypad, nice looking computer with some nice options for software with the assist button which launches Vaio care a easy do it yourself PC maintenance tool, for those who maybe are not real comfortable keeping their computer cleaned up and running at it's best performance.There are 4-USB pluggins three on the right and one on the left, A web connection only button which is a nice option so there's no need logging onto your desktop if your in a hurry or just have need for the web.Easy to use touch pad with a real nice feel and good control, but I use a mouse because that's what i am more comfortable with. Good power saving setting options in control panel. I am a 35 yo housewife and nursing student who needs something that is powerful (fast), small, light and handy that I can take with me everywhere I go. My first stab at reaching that goal was a 10.1" Acer Aspire One over a year ago. I got some good use out of it but grew tired of the limitations and slow speed compared to an awesome desktop at home (my husband IS a computer/tech guy). So I'd been waiting for an 11.6" model to hit the market that actually had true notebook features - not the lame atom processors, etc. It's finally here.What I like:-quietit is super quiet, fan noise barely audible-screen is really sharpthe definition and clarity of the screen/graphics are great; color is vivid as well-keyboardfull size, and also quiet with low profile keys-handy buttonsthere are a lot of handy one-touch type features like one that will black out the screen (could be used to thwart that nosy neighbor in the seat next to you, as well as being a great power saver during downtime)-setup was easyit is pretty self explanatory: put battery in, plug in, turn on, follow instructions, uninstall pre-installed garbage.-speedit boots up quickly and switching windows or webpages is almost instantaneous-touch padit is matte, slightly textured, and makes for easy use with average sensitivity. It also has some neat extra features where using different strokes across or in a circular motion will switch between windows and zoom in or zoom out... there are several of these and I don't know them all yet. Also, it is not so sensitive that if your thumb pad rubs over it while typing the cursor will jump around - I've had that problem before and I'm glad I don't have it now!-surfacesthe inside surface hand rest, aside from the touch pad, appears to be a brushed metal type that does not show fingerprints (nice). The outside is typical onyx - it's black with a little bit of barely noticeable sparkly-ness if you look closely.I have not used the Bluetooth feature yet... need to set that up for my Blackberry Storm. Also am ordering a BT mouse but have seen so many mixed reviews about the available models so will need to do more research.The computer comes well packaged and had no signs of damage. However, I think the cold made all the sticky plastic protectors leave a gummy residue on the case. It was easy to peel it off though -but initially alarming just the same.No case or cover - it came with a fabric cover that is similar to the stuff that's used on the bottom of box springs. So if you get this computer, you might as well order a bag/sleeve at the same time.Windows 7 - works like a charm.Weight - it's light and easy to handle. The bottom line: I love it and would highly recommend it. Thanks for reading my review!Addendum: I wanted to mention how long the battery lasts. I am notorious for rapid battery consumption on all devices (have to take cords with me always) ---this computer is changing that. I take it to school and it is on from 1:30-8:00 intermittently running MS office apps like Word, Excel and Powerpoint, plus an internet browser (I use Firefox). The use is not constant, but it's still on and ready the whole time. I don't even bother taking the cord with me, becuase on average after this usage I still have between 70-75% battery remaining when I get home! W. PattonI once thought that macro lenses were too specialized and that I would seldom need something so fine that I could photograph the segments in an insect's eye. That was until I bought this lens.I use it with a Canon 20D. My other lenses include the 17-85 IS zoom (versatile range but slow and not sharp), the 70-200mm f2.8L non-IS zoom (great for those moderate telephoto needs), and a 50mm f1.8 prime (very good for the price). But the 60mm is now my favorite lens, by a large margin. It's on my camera all the time, and the other lenses spend most of their time in the bag.It's very sharp; it's not heavy or conspicuous, and it handles fine macro photography or standard walking-around work (though not useful for wider angles).It's a little unfortunate that it doesn't come with a hood - Canon must make a fortune selling those hoods at the prices they charge. I'm probably going to have to buy a hood or hope somebody sees it on my Amazon wish list. It also doesn't come with a case, but if you're keeping the lens in a decent camera bag you don't need a case for the lens.More important than a hood is some kind of support for camera if you're doing any serious macro photography. With the lens wide open at f2.8 and the subject close to the lens you will only have about 1/4 inch (2-3 mm) of depth-of-field. Your breathing can move the camera enough to ruin your composition or knock the subject out of focus. So I'd suggest investing in some kind of small tripod or a bean bag or something to help hold it still. Of course, you can also boost the ISO and thereby get away with a faster shutter speed, but that's at the expense of a slight loss in quality. Some of the other vendors were cheaper, but no real assurance that I could return the kit without an act of congress. Living in an area where I could only get 1/2 a bar...sometimes, I was skeptical. The most common complaint by reviewers was the lack of instructions. I found that my only issue was identifying each piece that came in the package. Once that was done, the written instructions that came with the antenna were very clear. I found this site: [...]It clearly labels each component in the kit. This unit stated that it required professional installation. I chose to at least try it myself first, before paying for installation. From start to finish, this antenna and all its components were up and working in a little over 2 hours. I live in East Tennessee, in a "hollar"...a mountain range on each side of the house. The nearest cell tower is at least 20 miles away...on the other side of the mountain. I got on the roof with my cell phone and found a place where I got 2 bars...and decided where the antenna mast (not included in the kit) would be placed. I used the pole from my old analog TV antenna. I laid everything out on the living room floor so that I could better understand how the setup would look. The two outside antennas mounted easily (all the hardware was included) on a mast outside the house. If you use a metal pole, you must ground it. There is a grounding kit available on Amazon. I ran the cable (not included in this package) and then placed the base unit (white/orange part) in the attic. The shorter cable included in the kit goes from the base unit to the base antenna. The base antenna (white rectangle with short white cable) had to come into the house somewhere. I did not want this antenna hanging on the wall, so I drilled a hole in the ceiling...into the attic and mounted it on the ceiling (hardware is included for this also). The wire that shows was covered with plastic surface conduit. It now looks like a smoke detector. I now have 5 bars throughout the house! So here are a couple of notes to consider: 1. If you don't buy your cable through Amazon, remember to get RG-6 coax cable. RG-6 is also referred to as satellite cable. RG-5 is for cable TV and will significantly reduce the signal from your antenna. I got mine at Radio Shack. 2. Purchase enough cable to make the run from the yagi antenna outside, to the base unit inside. No breaks or splices. Lay any extra cable loosely in the attic. I coiled mine up and secured it with a wire tie and my signal dropped by 2 bars! 3. Be mindful of the vertical distance between the outdoor antenna and the inside base unit. You must have at least a 15 feet vertical drop. If they are too close, the base unit will indicate with a flashing red light. 4. There must be 4 to 5 feet between the base unit and the base unit antenna. My base unit is in the attic, five feet from the hole I drilled in the ceiling and the base unit antenna is mounted on the ceiling in my living room. 5. Read ALL the instructions before starting! 6. I am a 54 year-old grandmother! Don't say you can't do it! I bet you can!! This new lens will be referred to as "VR2" in this review while the earlier version of this lens will be referred to as the "VR1". Here are my initial impressions after using this lens and comparing it with the earlier version of this lens, the VR1.This professional-grade telephoto zoom lens is very well-made. Its focus is lightning fast and it produces very sharp photos with very good contrast and dynamic colors even when shot wide-open at f/2.8. The increased sharpness at the corner is easily noticeable even at f/2.8 and now makes this lens suitable for landscape shots. I find this increased sharpness at the corner beneficial even for portrait shots when I shoot off-center rule-of-thirds portrait shots. The improved color and contrast is easily noticeable in certain shots in back-to-back comparison against the VR1.The VR mechanism is very effective and helpful in keeping the photos sharp even when shooting at low shutter speeds in low-light conditions. The 1-stop improvement over the earlier version, the VR1, makes a very big difference, specially when shooting this lens from extended to maximum focal length with no monopod or tripod support. Being able to shoot handheld at 1/10th at 200mm is no easy task but it is possible with this new version.The tripod leg support is nothing less than excellent ... slim yet very sturdy, with provision for two-screws mounting support. The tripod support can easily be rotated for shooting in vertical portrait position or downside up for easy hand carry. The tripod leg can easily be detached if needed for a less-obtrusive hold when shooting handheld.Though this lens is heavier than the VR1, the added weight is not immediately noticeable. The shorter length and larger diameter makes for a more balanced hold when shooting handheld.How does this lens compare with the earlier version, the VR1? Here is a quick and easy to read summary:First, a definition of terms. The term "FX" refers to full frame Nikon camera bodies (D3x, D3s, D3 and D700). Shorter reach or magnification than the VR1 when shooting at close range (e.g., shooting at 200mm focal length is equivalent to 164mm when shooting from 10 feet away)For FX users who still do not have a 70-200mm f/2.8G zoom lens, go ahead and acquire this lens. The corner sharpness of this newer version is remarkable, specially when stepped down for landscape shots. Even for portrait shots, the increased sharpness at the corner is beneficial when shooting rule of thirds portrait shots. For FX users who already have the VR1, you will need to gauge whether the advantages will be worth the cost of getting this lens. If you need to shoot at this lens maximum focal length of 200mm, the lower magnification or the shorter "effective focal length in terms of field of view" when shooting at near range may be a major concern for you. This is specially a concern for events or wedding photographers. Note however that some photographers have adapted to this and actually found it helpful that the magnification remain near constant which minimizes the need to zoom out as the photographer approaches a subject or when the subject gets closer to the photographer. For some photographers, the reduced magnification when shooting at closer range is thus something that one can adapt to and take advantage of. It would still be best however to try the lens first and see how this impacts on your shooting style.For DX only users who already have a VR1, I currently see no advantages to upgrading to this new version unless you need the one-stop advantage of the VR2, and/or if you want even less vignetting (easily corrected in post-processing), and/or if you want a lens that is more resistant to flare ... and/or more importantly, planning to upgrade or to add an FX body.For DX users who still do not own the VR1, I recommend that you seriously consider getting this lens. Not only do you get the benefits of the newer version as listed above, getting this lens means that you will be well-positioned when you upgrade or add an FX body. Once you acquire or add an FX body, it will not surprise me that you will be doing a lot more shooting with the FX than with the DX. Since this lens is optimized for the FX, then getting this lens over the VR1 may prove to be a good decision. I was very happy with the price, and more than impressed with the packaging to prevent damage during delivery. Be ready to have someone help you move it into your home as it is incredibly heavy for one person. I had to flip it end over end to walk it through my front door (this is not the recommended procedure in case you are wondering). If you have stairs, setup your chiropractor appointment first. From that point I opened the box and took out all 5 million parts. I opened the directions and got started. There is nothing complicated about assembly, but set aside an easy 3-5 hours to work on it. Having built many of these "type" of various units, I now prefer to take my time and double check everything before I get half way through a project and have to start over. I suggest the same. Almost every piece on this unit requires that you glue many wooden pegs for support. While I like this from a construction standpoint, I'd be lying if I said it did not take me a while to complete it.Over all the stand is functional, the perfect size for my Sony 60" XBR TV. It holds my 4 main components and all different type of remotes function through the glass. The drawer is nice as it holds extra remotes so I know where to find them. I also like that the back is solid wood and not cheap cardboard....so there is a lot of support. The only "Con" is that the center speaker section in the center of the stand is not big enough to hold any real quality center speaker. Mine is currently on the floor in front of the TV stand as a result. At this time I'm not sure how we plan to remedy that. All in all I'm happy with the stand. If you have the time and you have the brawn, then I would more than recommend this stand for you.12/4/2010 Update: It's been almost 3 years. The furniture has held up well in day to day living. We have an 18 month old now who likes to hit it a lot with toys. Over all it has stood up well to this punishment. Like most "fake wood" furniture, if you gouge it too deep then you will see a lighter color substrate under the darker covering. I usually just draw over it with a black felt tip marker and you never see it without CLOSE inspection. I now have Wii and a computer in it. They both breath in the box OK, but not great. The holes in the back help some. Before buying the player we did a lot of research online and in stores. At one point we actually purchased a different model (not from Alpine) at a local store. I'd commented to the salesperson while we were purchasing it that I was concerned the screen was too small and the picture wasn't incredibly good (but the price was about $100 less than the Alpine). His actual response: "Well, what do you expect? It's not an Alpine." Ugh.That night, after purchasing the lesser model I kept thinking over what the salesguy said. In the morning I decided it was ridiculous to get such a low-end model just to save a relatively small amount of money. We returned the DVD player that day, and bought a new Alpine online from one of the sellers through Amazon. The seller we bought it from was selling it new for $499 (January 09). I see the price from current sellers has shot up again (June 09) but I suspect if you shop around/wait a bit you can find a similar price.INSTALLATIONThe instructions that come with the player aren't very clear which made installation fairly frustrating. My husband is extremely handy with cars and electronics, and it still took him about 6 hours to install the player, so keep that in mind if you're installing it yourself. It's likely you can find a local electronic store or car shop to install it for you if you don't want to tackle it on your own.PICTURE & SOUNDOnce my husband installed it he and I hopped in the back seats and put in a movie. The picture is excellent and the screen is huge. The sound - through the car speakers and/or through the wireless headphones is terrific. It came with one set of wireless headphones. We purchased 3 extra sets of headphones, so all 4 of our kids had a set. They range in age from 6-11, and none had problems handling the headphones, keeping them on their heads or manipulating the volume control. The only time the headphones didn't work well was when I tried one from the front seat. Apparently you need to be facing the front of the player (meaning, sitting in any of the back seats) for them to work well. I bought the 3 extra sets of headphones on another website as I couldn't find them currently for sale on Amazon. If you buy headphones make sure they work with the player. As far as I can tell, the only ones that work with the PKG-RSE2 are the headphones called Alpine SHS-N103.You can easily view the picture from the middle bucket seats and the back bench seat. We were concerned the kids wouldn't be able to see the picture from the far back because well, they're kids and kind of short, but it turned out they could view movies with no problems.We set up the DVD player so the sound comes through on FM station 88.1, and set that station as one of the defaults in the van. We've heard no static at all when using the radio as speakers for a movie. You can have sound coming through the speakers or through the headphones, or through both the speakers and headphones at the same time. You can also have the headphones on and have the radio playing other stations.SCREENA button on the player pop-unlocks the screen. Once it's unlocked you can pull it down for viewing. I'd advise anyone with this player to make sure the screen is closed before anyone in the back gets out...we've had a couple kids conk their heads on the screen when exiting the van. The screen appears to be well-made and strong, and the few head-conks it's gotten haven't affected it. (Sorry about your heads, kids!)The screen can be pulled down to about a 95- or 100-degree angle for viewing. It can't be pivoted to the left or right, but this has caused no issues. We've had no complaints of kids not being able to see the screen, even in bright sunlight.CONTROLSDVDs load in a slot that faces the back of the van. There is a fairly large On/Off button and Eject button on either side of the slot, a dome light switch, and an Open button that when pressed, unlocks the screen so you can pull it down. Once you figure out where each of these buttons is you can press them from the front with little problem, so you can handle most of the major controls without needing the kids' help. There's also a Menu/Select button underneath the DVD slot. This one works fine but you can really only use it if you're sitting in a seat facing the player.There are dome lights on either side of the player. They are fairly bright. We don't use them, however, as the van has a lot of other overhead lights. If you 'lose' some lights when installing the player the ones on the player should suit you well.The DVD player also comes with a remote which works pretty well from the front seats -- you just have to point it towards the player. We rarely use this but when we have it works fine. The awesome button is the 'Mommy Button' (I've also read this called the 'Mum Button') on the other side of the DVD player -- the side facing the front of the vehicle. The Mommy Button is a Play/Pause button there which is great when you want to stop the movie and get the kids' attention. And after the Spanish speaking delivery guys mounted it on the stand, plugged it in and left me to hook it up myself at my request, I began setting up the TV.This set comes with every possible connection that you will need to view and listen to anything that you want, it includes a WiFi adapter for your Internet applications which plugs into one of the two USB ports available and obviously, an SD card slot for viewing pictures, listening to mp3's,3D movies etc.There is also a pc connection if you decide to go that route,but i use one of the HDMI connections for my laptop which does an exceptional job.There are four HDMI input jacks, an optical digital audio output jack, and all the other standard inputs that you would need including a PC and a wired LAN connection.Setting up this beast took approximately 15 minutes, after which I began looking at the digital as well as analog channels that came in on my cable system.After setting the picture function to vivid, and backing off some of the adjustments, the thing looked superb... I also own a Panasonic vierra 50in plasma set that works like a champ, which is the reason that I went for this one, and the picture here exceeds the images I would see with the 50 inch.I fooled around a little bit with the Internet applications, it has all the usual ones, netflix - twitter -face book etc.It also has some games that you can play and if you want to,and you can download more apps... Some are free and some cost around 3 to 4 dollars to install in the TV. Looks nice and works as well as you might expect... My DSL connection is only 700 mbit so the quality isn't as topnotch as it would be on a faster connection... Say FIOS or something.I then throw in the avatar 2D bluray DVD, and that's where this thing really shines! The set has a function in it that allows you to smooth the image. This is very useful for removing the jerkyness that you see on most televisions when things move from side to side or up and down and it gives the appearance of a very smooth and flowing image... I love this and you have the option of turning this on and off. You can see this effect on some sharp and Samsung LCD TVs... Now it's available on plasma.. Very nice. The thing is maybe about an inch thick front to back so when you view it from the side you can barely even see it... And then as you step outwards from the side of it, you start to see all of the picture with no color degradation or reduction in brightness that you get with LCD TVs, so viewing angles aren't a problem.This is one of the clear reasons for me buying a plasma TV. And the black levels, as promised, are infinitely black! I viewed it in a completely darkened room and contrast levels are amazing... when the screen goes black, you couldn't see anything in the room except for the red light on the television.The set is 3D ready but you'll need to buy 3D bluray player and the special Panasonic active shutter 3D glasses that you have to purchase separately... Another $400 or so for those additions... So for now I can't comment on the 3D functionality of this set.. But I am sure that it is beautiful because everything else looks great on this titanic screen.My son has seen it and is bugging me about getting the 3D glasses so that he can see how avatar looks in 3D so maybe there will be an addition to this long review coming soon. It's about the size of a toaster, so I keep it on my desk between dual monitors and scan in client letters, invoices, receipts, reports etc. It's let me move my consulting business to a 'paperless office', saving lots of find-the-paper-file time.It's fast and easy, and in almost 3 months and 10,000 pages I've had no mechanical problems. (I chose this model because many newsgroup posters said it was business-level reliable.)Flies through 18 - 19 one-bit black and white pages per minute at 300 dpi - wow. (300 dpi is plenty for archiving and OCR page recognition software.) Is quite a bit slower at higher dpis - about 8 pages per minute at 400. Goes up to 600 dpi.100 dpi color scanning is quick but 300 dpi color is quite slow, about 2 pages per minute. The rate limiting step seems to be data transfer, not the scanner itself.Duplex scanning - both sides at once - is wonderful, with lots of uses I didn't foresee.Comes (Jan 2004) with Adobe Acrobat 5.0, which works fine. Upgrade to Acrobat Standard 6.0 was then just $100 and Acrobat Pro just $150. They sell normally at $300 and $450. A big savings. Acrobat 6 has built in page recognition - scan the page, and Acrobat will OCR it so you can search and cut and past text.THE DRIVER SOFTWARE IS POOR. My version (Jan 2004) shipped with a driver that was two iterations out of date, and couldn't handle color scans on Win XP. Blue scanned in as green, etc. Useless. But few of the settings are obvious, and the user's guide, which was written in Japanese, translated into Serbo-Croatian, then into Eskimo, and finally into English, is often undecipherable. By looking at the specification of the lens alone, it is quite difficult for a photographer owning an more than a handful of Alpha lenses to decide if this lens would serve any purpose that is not already covered by those handful of Alpha lenses he/she already owns. For one thing, the SAL2875 SAM has one of the oddest zoom range there is for a zoom lens. From 28-75mm, at its widest, it is not particularly wide (42mm) on an APS-C to shoot landscape photographs, and at its furthest (112.5mm) on an APS-C, it can't quite reach the distance attainable by alot of cheaper, beer can varieties (usually between 300-450mm) that are much easier to carry and perform just as well, optically.The price tag of the SAL2875 is not exactly attractive either. Being just a hair short of 800 dollars, this lens has all the physical characteristics of the very cheap, low end "easy choice" lenses released by Sony for beginners and enthusiasts. The use of the noisy SAM motor, the general rubberized and plasticky construction, combined with the external distance indicator ring, all scream "cheap". Cheap however, the SAL2875 is not. With the same amount of money, you could get the high-quality, nearly all-metal G lens SAL70300, or the Reflex super telephoto SAL500F80.So, this begs the question, "why make this lens at all?". If you look at the history of the Sony Alpha system, you will notice that the system seems to be focusing too much on developing new APS-C bodies and lenses. You will also notice that there are currently still plenty of gaps in terms of focal lengths in the full frame line-up, especially at lower focal lengths. The majority of the lenses with lower focal lenghts from Sony are either G grade and Carl-Zeiss grade lenses, which makes them inaccessible to most regular shooters. The two full frame alphas, the DSLR-A900 and A850 might have been two of the cheapest full frame bodies in the market, but there doesn't seem to be a way for anyone to attach any usable (full-frame compatible at least), wide-angle zoom lenses made by Sony to these bodies without punching a whole through their wallets.Therefore, it is only logical for Sony to release the SAL2875 SAM, to give their full frame owners the option to buy a more affordable, wide-angle zoom instead of the extravagant Carl-Zeiss equivalent.The SAL2875 also has the advantage of having a constant maximum aperture of F2.8. This is no easy feat, so perhaps that is why, despite it's less than stellar construction (with the exception of the zoom lock and metal mount), the SAL2875 is still commanding a jaw dropping price tag 800 dollars.So, if you own a full frame body like I do, you will enjoy using this lens. Having an FOV of 28mm at the widest and an FOV of 75 at its narrowest while maintaining a very large aperture of F2.8, the lens makes a decent landscape accessory, capable of framing some interesting, slightly exaggerated head to waist portraits and qualifies for shooting faces nearer to its maximum focal length at 75mm with the large F2.8 iris.I've had the lens attached to my DSLR-A850 for almost a day now, and I can say that although I hate the weight it adds to the already tank-like A850, I certainly do not mind it's ability to zoom, eventhough it's just a measely 2.6x maginification. The added framing flexibility definitely makes it easier for me to frame some difficult shots, especially since the A850 does not come with live view framing. Once I have comfortably positioned my body for a shot, I could go to the zoom dial to fine tune the framing.Pros:1) Good optics.2) Great for full frame bodies, nothing this affordable in this category by Sony so far.3) Constant maximum aperture of F2.8.4) Fast focus (although noisy).Cons:1) Bad for APS-C bodies, zoom range between 42mm to 112.5mm (just 2.6x) is meaningless compared to the very affordable SAL1855 zoom (3x zoom), the megazooms SAL18200 (11x) and SAL18250 (13.8x). All these cheaper, DT lenses have true wide-angle coverage of 27mm when mounted on an APS-C body.2) Very expensive yet cheap looking.3) No leather pouch given for such a premium price.The lens gets 4 stars for optics and constant max aperture, but gets 3 star for both construction and pricing. Most of the apps I run including Photoshop, Aperture, FinalCut Express really don't take advantage of multiple cores and getting the dual core 2.4 would have been an unwise choice unless you really need to upgrade your RAM up to 64 GB. I couldn't find any other laptop that met my criteria with the price i was okay with:Chiclet KeyboardNumeric Padexcellent 15" screengood specs for capable and smooth multimedia playback and light gaming--Aesthetics:The look and feel of this laptop may not inspire you, but it is well thought out with 4 USB ports (1 of them is a USB/eSata port on the left) as well as a quality touch in the way the screen sits out and below the level of the computer. The screen is 15.5" and while its not 1440x900 resolution like on my previous macbook pro, I don't feel deprived of the extra pixel detail. The screen is bright, colors look great when viewing pics and vids, and blacks LOOK black and not a shade of grey. This alone amazed me. It could be the glossy screen that causes colors to appear stronger, as this is the first glossy screen i've owned. The backlight is CCFL, not LED, which I say would only benefit me in that it does not use mercury. Oh yeah, the built-in webcam works well with the easy to use webcam companion software thats included.When closed, the laptop looks much thinner than it really is due to the two tone combination of white and black for the mainboard. At around 5-6 lbs the weight is what you'd expect with other laptops with 15" screens.Performance:This laptop just blazes by with Windows 7, which has its merits and very little to complain about comparing to OSX. With the base Core i3 and integrated gfx, Aero looks awesome and is buttery smooth. I constantly run Chrome Web Browser with many tabs, itunes, IM chat, GIMP, and video playback all at the same time, and I've yet to see the machine hiccup. I dip into the 4gb of memory with 1gb left free usually. I have not deliberately tried to test the limits of my machine, but mind you, its likely able to handle whatever casual/multimedia tasks you can throw at it for daily personal use, school, or at the office. The machine comes with great conveniences such as the ASSIST and WEB button which help you run maintenance/solve issues and quickboot to web without windows running, respectively.Cons:Aside from the confidence I have in the looks and performance of this laptop, I must include that I have very few qualms overall.-Battery life is a meager 2 hours doing light web browsing. Watch a movie with full brightness and I'm not sure you'll get an hour and half. I could care less as I always have it plugged in.-The trackpad could use better software (I wish it could scroll with multitouch ala Apple and Asus laptops). The included functionality for the trackpad is powered by Alps, and it isn't up to par IMO. The multitouch gestures available are Flick, Pinch Zoom, and Pivot Rotation. Yawn. Just give me scroll with two fingers and I'm happy. Maybe I will come across software/driver that can let me do this. For now, scrolling up and down with the right end of the trackpad will suffice. Aside from this, I do run into a few rare instances where I am moving the cursor around and suddenly the cursor hangs or jumps erratically. This could be due to particles on the touchpad that is interfering with my touch, but just FYI anyway.-Speaker quality could be better and overall louder, but I use earphones or play music through my B&W Zepellin via airtunes most of the time.-Viewing angles of the screen is horrid. I expect this with any screen coming in a $600 laptop. Show me a $600 machine with IPS panel, then I can blame Sony for the viewing angles. Until then, this is the best of any comparable price range. The bottom line is the screen will be fine for you but may suck for anyone else joining in from an angle.As you can see, the nature of the issues I've reported have a minimal impact on my computing experience, mostly because they aren't that big of a deal aside from battery life. If you are looking for battery life, look elsewhere. The Sony Vaio VPC EB11FX is the laptop you want with a bright screen you don't need to squint your eyes on. It is competently fast with daily tasks and multimedia playback. Your hands will thank you as it is a delight to type on and doesn't scald your lap like other laptops (APPLE, anyone?). The first DVR system the "Black*** by Netrome" was a big piece of junk and did not last a year and customer support was non existant and could not speak ledgiable English.This is not the case with the Defender Customer Support, 24/7 help and courtious. I have only found one drawback with Defender Systems, they are not "Mac computer w/Safari" supported and I have to revert to a Windows Internet Explorer to veiw my system. Wheb I started reading the manual, the differences between the H31, H30 and H300 jumped out at me. I would now choose to spend the extra for one of the others. The H300 is as advertised, but the extra features would have been worth the extra money.The extra items in the kit are nice to have, if you don't already have most of them (tripod and bag mainly) The memory provided is the slower (4) type. It works for fine for the lower formats but the faster (6) is suggested for the high def. The item was shipped for free and was here in 3 business days. I felt that I should write this because I always read user reviews before buying anything, and I find them very helpful. I must say that this printer is outstanding. I first contacted Brother support via e-mail to find out if this printer is compatible with Windows 7, both 32 bit and 64 bit, and also with Apple's Snow Leopard 10.6.2. They responded within 24 hours and assured me that it was, with down-loadable drivers from the Brother Solutions Center download page. So I took the plunge and made the purchase. My printer was delivered by FedEx, a day late (as usual). I like UPS so much better, but am not faulting Amazon or Brother for this. I set up the printer as per the quick start guide and turned it on. So far so good. Here comes the best part. I called Brother's technical support line to ask for assistance in downloading the driver's and software package and installing it on my systems. An initial wait time of about fifteen minutes kinda sucked, but let me tell you, these techs at Brother are top notch. I had a Windows 7 tech walk me through the install on the 64 bit system, then the 32 bit system, without a hitch at all. They then transferred my call to an Apple expert who did the same for me. I was up and running within the hour! Wirelessly and all! Amazing! Then I got to play with it for a while. I wasted some paper trying out the scan, copy, and print features, but it was worth it. Fax works great also. The printer is compact but heavy! I set it all up by myself, but a second set of hands would help. The printer is relatively quiet for a laser. Black is BLACK! Color is beautiful and vibrant, and best of all it works perfectly on all my systems, PC and Mac! I have to say that the Brother support techs were so very good. They all spoke clear English and were easy to understand. They were all very knowledgeable about the machine and the various OS I had. Thumbs up all the way. I had considered a Samsung CLX-3175FW wireless color laser, but the limited Mac support pushed me away. I called their customer service line to ask the compatibility issue and was told "I'm pretty sure it works with the Mac." Pretty sure?? No thanks! This printer replaced a Dell 968 wireless All In One. This printer would not play nice with the Mac or with 64 bit Windows 7. Dell's tech support is the worst. Long waits and unrecognizable dialects. I researched so many stereos and finally settled on the JVC NT3HDT. I made a list of all the features I wanted in my new stereo, and the JVC NT3HDT met each one. I was looking for a stereo that included built-in Bluetooth, HD radio, navigation, lifetime traffic updates, iPod/iPhone control, SD card slot, USB port, speed alerts, DVD player, and voice control. I was not interested in XM radio since I do not subscribe to the service. The only place where the unit fell short was that there wasn't any voice control. I went to a local installer and had the stereo installed along with a Boyo VTL420 backup camera. I had already read the online manual on JVC so I put it to the test.I read previous reviews where there were complaints about the startup time. I see no lag. I guess because as soon as I start up the car I am usually backing out of my garage or a parking space so the backup camera comes on immediately. There are options to adjust the display settings so I could tweak it where I was comfortable. The navigation is awesome. There are 3 map viewing options. I chose the 2D display. There are so many options including avoiding toll roads, ferries, and highways to the shortest and quickest course. You can add your own POIs from Google Maps using Street Assistant that can be downloaded from the JVC website, but the unit comes loaded with so many POIs like gas stations, restaurants, and department stores. You can also set up alerts for the POIs on your route. The traffic alerts come in handy. I love being able to get in the car and look at Traffic Incidents instead of waiting for a traffic update on the radio or trying to check it before I leave the house. It has real time traffic updates as well. The second day I had the stereo I was on the highway when an accident happened about 7 or 8 cars in front of me. About 5 minutes before that I had checked the traffic incidents, and there was were no incidents. I checked the traffic incidents 5minutes later and confirmed the accident was listed and was able to select the option to detour the accident. I currently have the detour traffic incidents feature set to manual, but it can be set to automatically detour accidents. The unit displays the current speed limit for the road you're traveling on. I had the speed sensor that comes with the unit hooked up so I can get a voice alert letting me know if I am exceeding the speed limit by 3, 6, or 10 miles. The voice alert will speak over anything currently playing. It does come in handy for those speed traps. The HD radio is pretty awesome. I checked online to verify that there were HD stations in my area. I currently have my stereo set up to change the audio to digital automatically. It can be manually set. The system does support multicast stations. I know a lot of systems claim to and don't. The radio station name, song title, and artist info display when a song is playing. There is iTunes tagging available as well when you have an iPod or iPhone connected via USB. Besides providing traffic updates, the stereo also gives the latest sports scores, local,sports, and national news, and weather. My iPhone 3Gs paired with the stereo quickly, and downloading my phone book to the stereo took less than 3 minutes. I have only had to pair it once, and my iPhone is always connected. Pretty much everyone I have talked to using the Bluetooth tell me it sounds better than my normal phone. I have used the Bluetooth audio a few times. I don't really care for it because none of the album art displays. I did have the original iPod cable connected. Everything sounds so awesome, but video will not display with that cable. I decided to purchase the JVC cable to connect my iPod to the USB port and aux in port to display video and album art. The sound is wonderful. What's so incredible is the way my album art and artist information displays. The album art is sharp and clear. My podcast art displays splendidly as well. My playlists, videos, podcasts, and audio books all play smoothly, and the sound is so strong. My DVD player is awesome. I did purchase the bypass cable so I could play videos while I am driving. I made a DVD disc containing 3 AVI files, and the videos look better than they dos on my iPod. I purchased a few DVDs as well that play well. I purchased an anti-glare screen protector as well. I wanted to test out how movies that are usually really dark display with the sun shining on the unit. I tested it using the movie Legion. Legion looked pretty incredible. I also made a MP3 DVD disc as well that displayed all the album art and artist info and sounded great. In addition to that, I also purchased a 16 GB SD card that I filled with music. The album art and artist info all displayed as well. The sound was incredible. I have yet to play anything on this stereo that doesn't sound incredible. I currently have the equalizer set to Natural. I set up greeting and goodbye messages. They play when I enter and exit my car. I was able to customizable my display colors to match my current interior display colors. It's no question that this stereo fulfills all my needs and wants. I've had a good amount of time to play with all its capabilities. The out of the box settings are not that good, so the settings do need some adjustment. This TV is an unbelievable deal coming from SONY as it has the EXACT same specifications as the more expensive HX820. The only difference is that the HX820 has monolithic gorilla glass design. I've compared this TV with both the EX720 and the HX820 and this TV delivers a picture almost identical to the HX820 for a much cheaper price than the HX820. The original listing price for the 46HX820 is $2,600 while my 46HX729 was originally listed for $1,900. Trust me, $700 more just for just the monolithic gorilla glass on the HX729 is not worth it. Don't by into the opti-contrast gimmick that Sony says monolithic gorilla glass provides, the HX729 creates black as black as the black frame. I was originally looking to buy the EX720, but after finding out that the panel frequency on that model is actually only 120hz, I settled on this model which is the cheapest SONY 3D TV with 240hz panel frequency. (The EX720 is motion-flow 240, however its actually frequency is only 120hz.) Specification wise, this TV is much better than the EX720 in multiple categories such that the Hz is twice as fast, it has X-reality PRO*(2 processing chips instead of 1), dynamic LED, local dimming, etc. It also the cheapest model to have wifi and the 3d transmitter built it. Surprisingly, it has a glossy display. I thought that this display was the same as the EX720 which is semi-matte but this TV definitely looks more glossy than semi-matte (That's a plus to me because matte can distort the sharpness a little bit) As far as LCD TV's I couldn't find any other LCD with 240hz panel frequency for this price that looked this good. I would say that this is the best quality/price ratio you will find. 2D PICTURE:The 2d non-HD picture is actually pretty good on this TV. The problem with buying decently sized HD televisions is that they seem to stretch out and distort an SD(standard definition) signal. Surprisingly, the X-Reality Pro engine does a nice job tuning up an SD input. Of course, it doesn't make the picture look HD but makes it look better than many other HD TVs will make the SD picture look. As far as HD picture, my girlfriend and I cannot stop saying how incredible and real the picture looks. So far, I have tested BBC's Life series on here in 1080p and he scenes look unbelievably crystal clear with the most vivid colors on a TV I have ever seen. It literally gives a 3D effect without 3D. It looks so clear that it seems like we are actually there watching something through our binoculars. There is absolutely no ghosting effect or distortion whatsoever. The only bad thing I can say is that the picture is so clear that you can sometimes tell when the filmer did not have the camera completely in focus. As far as the motion flow 480, I watched one of the NBA finals game last night and there is no jitter, it is completely smooth. The only downside to using 480 Motionflow is that the back-light is dimmed. I find using the 240hz panel frequency know as the "clear" setting as opposed to "clear pro" setting is the best. I also was able to test out streaming HD content through Netflix. Although the picture was not as good as it was through the blu-ray player it was still pretty clear. But trust me, content through the blu-ray player doesn't even look like you're looking at a TV. The last thing I really like about this TV is how many settings there are for the picture, there must be at least 50 different settings categorized into about 15 groups. As far as the things I don't like(but don't really care about), is that I notice a very tiny amount of light on the bottom corners of the screen when the screen is black. When I say tiny amount I mean about a cm^2 of noticeably brighter back-light. It's no big deal though as when watching Life I only saw it every 2 hours or so for a split second. The other thing I didn't don't like is that the back light is a litter bit dim without adjustment. I turned up the white levels and turned on some setting when I got it and it looks fine now. 3D PICTURE: After ordering a defective pair of glasses and replacing them, I finally got a chance to test out the 3d. Even the simulated 3d is amazing. The simulated (2d to 3d conversion) doesn't pop out at you dramatically, but it adds so much depth to the picture. It looks as if you where looking into a window and watching what was going on inside. The real 3d content is identical to the experience you would have in a theater. The 480hz motion flow and the panel frequency of 240hz makes the 3d nearly flawless. Very rarely you will see a double image but that can be fixed by turning down the glasses brightness setting.GAMING:I used to play video games a lot when I was younger but slowly stopped playing as I got older. Nonetheless, when I got this TV i decided to whip out the xbox. Ever since, I've been playing a few hours a week. This TV is amazing for gaming. (that last one of course is a pro for a buyer. for a seller I guess it would be a con)Cons: Telescopic (AKA "push-pull") focal length adjustment takes more time and energy and is more herky-jerky, weighs about a ton, and the bokeh is so good it's almost too much in certain instances!The cons here are really just getting into minutia for the sake of being thorough and objective. This lens is a slam dunk for the price it can be found regularly on the used market. I picked up this lens for exactly 1/5 of the price of the much lauded 17-35mm or 17-55mm "photojournalist" lenses. I realize the focal length range of 35-70mm is not as desired for many people as the 17-35mm or the 17-55mm, but at 1/5 the price c'mon! I am not able at this stage to afford the 17-35mm/17-55mm or I might have bought it instead, but I really don't feel like I got the short end of the stick by any means. This lens holds its own just fine thank you very much. Plus, I rarely have the need to shoot at a focal point less than 35mm. The vast majority of my work is between 35mm and 55mm. Also, I would be very surprised if the optics of the 17-35mm is noticeably better than this lens, at least by 99% of people looking at it. The output quality of this lens really is beautiful. When I first got the lens I spent several hours trying to find a place where I could be disappointed with the output, even zooming in with Photoshop to super close ranges. I was not able to disappoint myself. I found no negative issues with the optics/output of this lens then, and I still haven't at this point. I also wanted to find at least a tri-core and preferably a quad-core with 4+ GB RAM and 500+ GB HD, and Win7 Prem 64-bit for less than $500. I exceeded my expectations with this laptop! I've had it a few days now, did all the usual Windows 7 updates, installed MS Office products and a few other apps and am quite pleased with the performance and have had no reliability issues - I leave it on and use it all day. Of course I bought the 3 year Squaretrade warranty "just in case". The bottom side does get a little warm where the HD and RAM are located, but I will buy a laptop fan/cooler to sit under it as that is to be expected with notebooks. The Windows Performance Index is a 4.0 for Graphics and 5.2-6.9 for everything else. While the HD is 5400 RPM, I haven't noticed any performance issues, but will probably upgrade the RAM to 8GB of 1333 MHz memory and add a ReadyBoost SD chip to keep it fast. The SD slot is well placed to leave a ReadyBoost chip installed. The HD graphics are really clean and sharp, and it is nice to have an HDMI port to use. The webcam works good and is suitable for the occasional Skyping. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase with regards to the seller's ability to deliver quickly and also the quality and value of this product. I had two qualifications for the camera I bought - IP capability and Megapixel capture. I searched and googled for days. This is a very well-made cam. It is solid, metal, and pretty sleek. Bigger than I expected - about 3" in diameter. It is quite simple to setup and I have it working through my firewall at home and easily visible from anywhere. It has 4 video streams which you can customize (MJPG, MP4, H.264 modes). The smartphone viewing doesn't work, but that may be an issue with my Android 2.1 and video format. I will try with my iPod Touch (iPhone compatibility test). The quality is quite good and a decent framerate is broadcast across the internet. Motion capture is sensitive and can be customized for regions and percent of view, etc. The infrared mode is excellent, kicks in however you set it up to. You can use strictly B/W or infrared with color. It literally sees in pitch black. Infamous 'ghost orbs' show up, which show how dusty your house can be (haven't attached it outside yet). Of course for ~$3 per GB it ought to be something special, since at the time I'm writing this review you can get a normal SSD for under $2/GB and mechanical drive for under 5 _cents_ per GB.It's long been known in enthusiast circles that replacing your PC's boot drive with a SSD is one of the most cost-effective ways to make your machine feel faster during real-world use. The RevoDrive just takes that one step further by cutting the motherboard's disk controller out of the data path -- it moves data directly over the PCIE bus. A RevoDrive will get you a 7.9 on the Windows 7 Experience hard disk performance meter and make your apps load with lightning speed. For example, Photoshop comes up in just over two seconds on my PC.If it wasn't obvious from the pricetag, the RevoDrive is aimed at people who want extreme performance and are willing to pay for it. It's also intended for people who are used to tinkering with their PCs: if you are uncomfortable with tasks such as moving around expansion cards, changing BIOS settings, and reinstalling your OS with custom drivers, you should probably stay away from the RevoDrive.
